Hi I’m Yasmin – my goal is to help you explore the world better, no matter what season of life you’re in.
Whether you’re single with a free calendar, married with kids and a narrow window of annual leave, or fresh off a mortgage signing and wondering when travel fits back into the picture, it does. It just looks different at every stage, and that’s fine. This blog is proof that you can see the world thoughtfully, deliberately, and well, no matter where life has you right now.
Not every trip needs to be three months long. Not every adventure requires you to have left everything behind. You just need to keep going, at your own pace, in your own way.
How It All Started?
My turning point happened on a Monday morning, stuck in traffic on Jalan Tun Razak; one of Kuala Lumpur’s most reliably gridlocked roads, somewhere between my second coffee and a Vampire Weekend song. I was a product development manager at a multinational insurance group, and I remember thinking very clearly: I haven’t seen enough of the world, and I’m running out of reasons to wait.
That was 2016. Twelve months later, after going through my finances with the kind of scrutiny I previously reserved for quarterly reports, I landed in Okinawa with a backpack, a HP laptop, and an iPhone 6S. Three weeks, solo, completely from scratch. I had no idea what I was doing. Fortunately, fast forward to today, I’ve been doing it ever since.
About What I Do
I’m a full-time travel blogger and contributing writer based in Malaysia, with a particular obsession with cold-weather destinations. Winter is my season. Snow-laden forests, frozen lakes, Arctic light at 3pm, this is where I feel most alive, which is a slightly inconvenient trait for someone who grew up in 30-degree heat year-round.
Since that first solo trip to Okinawa, I’ve travelled across more than 20 countries spanning Europe, Asia, the Middle East including Australia and New Zealand, and always with a camera, be it independently, sometimes with friends or family, and always with notes that eventually become guides and photo journals.
My work has been published in Red Bull, Kayak, and Go Asia Plus. When I’m not writing about travel, I work with direct-to-consumer e-commerce brands helping them build retention marketing channels.
What Makes this Blog Different?
Every single post is a first-hand account of the experiences I had in the places I visit. Every photo you see on this blog was taken in places I saw with my very own eyes and captured with my trusted Olympus Pen camera. Nothing fancy, really, just a keen eye for moments that sometimes go unnoticed and a genuine passion for photography.
This won’t be a blog that tries to write about everywhere, but rather one filled with photos that get under your skin and make you feel instantly transported to the places written about.
I’m also not here to encourage anyone to quit their job, drop everything, and go see the world. Instead, I want everyone to experience the world in their own way – whether that’s a month travelling solo in Scotland, a spontaneous one-week hike in a rainforest older than the Amazon, or a staycation closer to home. This blog is about helping you create your very own travel memories, at your own pace, with the right advice and recommendations.
Thank you for being here and being part of my little community of travellers. I hope you find something that sparks the start of your own travel memories.

P.S. A few fun facts about me: I’m currently living and working in Malaysia with my cat (Chief Treats Officer). I’m an absolute fan of iced houjicha latte and Chek Hup coffee, and I’ll watch or read pretty much anything sci-fi or thriller.
If you’ve found something useful here, my cat and I are always grateful – he accepts treats, I accept coffee. You can buy me coffee at my Ko-fi page.
